Ascension Hospitals Cyberattack Investigation

Location: All US States

About the Investigation:

Was Your Data Exposed In The Ascension Health System Cyberattack?

Ascension Health System has 140 hospitals across the United States and D.C.  In early May 2024, the hospital discovered an unauthorized interruption to their internal systems.  This affected their phone systems, patient portals, electronic health records systems, and their computerized safety checks to prevent medication errors.  In the weeks since the attack was discovered, nurses have been paper charting, emergency patients are being sent elsewhere, and there are delays in distributing medications and obtaining lab results. Some Ascension pharmacies are not able to operate at all with their systems down.

The concern is that when the extent of the breach is determined, sensitive patient data may be found to have been stolen.

Data breaches are serious matters that can cause long term damage. Hackers break into networks so that they can steal your personal information to sell it on the dark web, commit identity theft, financial theft or other frauds. Selling health information is especially lucrative on the dark web.

How do you know if you were affected? If you receive a letter from Ascension Health System notifying you that your private information was impacted in their data breach, contact us right away to find out if you may be eligible for compensation!
