Did you purchase a car through Dealers Auto Auction Group? If so, your data may have been stolen!
On January 4, 2023, City Enterprises notified the Texas Attorney General that they had experienced a data breach to their network in which customers’ personal information was accessed and stolen. City Enterprises is a business entity operating out of Tennessee that runs Dealers Auto Auction Group. The hackers were able to access the data of an unknown number of customers that this company was storing in its system. The data they stole includes not only customer names, but social security numbers, driver’s license numbers and financial information such as account or credit card numbers.
Data breaches are serious matters that can cause long term damage. Hackers break into networks so that they can steal your personal information to sell it on the dark web, commit identity theft, financial theft or other frauds.
