Brightstar is based in Providence, Rhode Island, and recently notified several different state attorneys general regarding a data breach which occurred in November of 2024. During the cyber security incident, data belonging to over 103,000 individuals was exposed, possibly including some combination of names, Social Security numbers, contact information, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, bank account information, health information and more.
