Cerenade Data Breach

Location: All US States

About the Investigation:

Did You Receive A Data Breach Notice From Cerenade?

If so, your sensitive personal identifiable information may have been stolen!

Cerenade is a company based in California which recently disclosed to the California Attorney General a data breach which affected around 100 GB of their company files. Cerenade provides cloud-based software for immigration and legal case management. In that capacity, the company is entrusted with highly sensitive personal data from people seeking to apply for or adjust their immigration status through firms which use Cerenade software. When the Cerenade computer network was breached by a ransomware group, private information was stolen by the criminals which may include passports, immigration documents and legal documents. Those documents typically contain information including full names, Social Security numbers, passport numbers and more.

Data breaches are serious matters that can cause long term damage. Hackers break into networks so that they can steal your personal information to sell it on the dark web, commit identity theft, financial theft or other frauds.

How do you know if you were affected? Because Cerenade is a 3rd party software vendor used by immigration services providers, you may not even be aware that they have your private data. If you receive a letter from Cerenade notifying you that your private information was impacted in their data breach, contact us to find out if you may be eligible for compensation!

What should you do if you were affected? If the notice letter you receive offers you credit monitoring services, you should sign up for them. Keep a copy of the data breach notice letter for your records and monitor your accounts for any fraudulent activity. Change the passwords to any accounts you currently have and contact an attorney who can help you with next steps by filling out the form on this page!
