Choice Hotels International Data Breach
About the Investigation:
If so, your sensitive personal identifiable information may have been stolen!
Choice Hotels International franchises 22 hotel brands with locations throughout the world, and their company headquarters in North Bethesda, Maryland. In January of 2026, Choice Hotels notified the Attorney General of Vermont that one of their computer systems containing information about franchisees had been hacked. During the incident, sensitive information may have been compromised — including names, contact information, dates of birth and Social Security numbers. Notice letters were mailed to affected individuals on February 19, 2026.
Data breaches are serious matters that can cause long term damage. Hackers break into networks so that they can steal your personal information to sell it on the dark web, commit identity theft, financial theft or other frauds.
