Attorneys are investigating the marketing and sale of certain fluoride mouthrinse products purchased for children under six years old.
The investigation is focused on Illinois consumers who purchased one of the identified products without being instructed by a dentist to do so.
The products include:
- Colgate Kids Mouthrinse, including the Unicorn and Minions packaging
- Tom’s of Maine Children’s Mouthrinse
According to the American Dental Association, fluoride mouthrinse is not recommended for children under six due to risk of adverse side effects.
