Inlet Health d/b/a Communicare Data Breach

Inlet Health does business as Communicare, a company which operates over 140 locations, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities and rehabilitation centers. They are based in Ohio, with other locations in Indiana, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virgina. On November 23, 2024, Communicare computer systems were hacked by a ransomware group which threatened to publish the data they stole if they were not paid. The types of information which may have been compromised could include names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, financial information, medical information or health insurance information.

Data breaches are serious matters that can cause long term damage. Hackers break into networks so that they can steal your personal information to sell it on the dark web, commit identity theft, financial theft or other frauds.
