NIKE Reverse Racial Discrimination Investigation
About the Investigation:
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) is investigating NIKE, Inc.’s internal Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies for potentially discriminating against white employees in order to meet DEI targets and quotas. NIKE DEI policies may have unfairly led to some white workers being targeted for layoffs, passed over for promotions and special programs, and more — all because of their race.
This could be in direct violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which protects all races from discrimination in employment. The EEOC is investigating NIKE in order to make sure that every employee, from every ethnicity or race, has fair and equal access to employment opportunities. Documents were filed in federal court after NIKE failed to comply with the EEOC’s subpoena.
More information about DEI-based workplace discrimination is available on the EEOC website here What You Should Know About DEI-Related Discrimination at Work | U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Attorneys at Siri & Glimstad are investigating the allegations against NIKE. If you feel you were discriminated against by NIKE because of DEI policies, our attorneys would like to talk to you.
How An Attorney Can Help
In order to file a lawsuit for racial discrimination, a job applicant or an employee may first have to go through the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (“EEOC”) investigation process and receive what is called a “Right to Sue” letter. We may assist employees through this process. In some instances, we may decide to pursue litigation in federal court after obtaining the Right to Sue letter.
There is no obligation involved in speaking to an attorney about your situation to find out whether you may have a case, but there is urgency because your legal rights to sue are generally time sensitive. Once your claim is barred based upon expired time limits, you may never be able to pursue any action to recover damages or other relief.
