Do you own a Samsung smart TV? Did you know they come with a software program installed called Samba TV? Samba TV is a powerful surveillance program that analyzes anything displayed on the screen — including cable programming, streaming apps, video game consoles, apps cast from a phone, etc.
Through Samba TV, Samsung is able to collect detailed information about its customers, link that information to their identities, and target them with advertising. All without your consent or knowledge. Based on preliminary investigations, it appears Samsung may even be collecting sensitive information entered by the TV user, or accessed using the smart TV display.
