Above-Ground Pool Recall

Location: All US States

About the Investigation:

Do You Have One of The Recently Recalled Above-Ground Pools?

*INVESTIGATION CLOSED*

———————————————————————————

Recently, a recall was issued by the makers of certain above-ground pools due to a serious safety concern which has already caused deaths. There is a compression strap around the bottom of the pools that allows a young child to get a foothold to gain access to the pool, even if the ladder has been removed. There have been nine deaths of young children ages 22 months to 3 years old reportedly due to this, as well as other incidents where children were able to gain access to the pool.

5,000,000 of these pools have been sold in the years since 2002.  Could one of them be in your backyard? The brand names include Bestway, Intex, and Polygroup and are printed on the outside of the pools.  This recall includes the 48-inch high and taller models. If you have one of these pools, it is imperative that you contact the maker regarding this recall. The recall notice is linked below.
