Apria Healthcare is a company that provides medical equipment and supplies to patients in their homes. They serve more than one million patients a year in over 300 locations throughout the U.S. On May 22, 2023, Apria sent out data breach notices to 1.8 million patients. These letters were sent to notify affected individuals of an incident in which an unauthorized third party broke into the Apria network and stole patient data, including: financial account numbers, credit card numbers, security codes, passwords and PIN numbers.
