What Happened?

Benefits Management Group (BMGI), a third-party administrator for employee benefits and retirement plans, discovered a cybersecurity breach on November 26, 2024, when they detected unauthorized access to their systems. The breach began as early as October 24, 2024, and extended until December 2, 2024. BMGI reported the incident to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on January 24, 2025, followed by notifications to California and Massachusetts authorities on July 17, 2025.
