On October 6, 2023, Brooklyn Premier Orthopedics announced that their computer system had been the target of a security attack in which sensitive information was accessed and stolen by hackers. The information exposed in their system included the personal data of 48,000 patients. The sensitive data taken includes names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses and private medical records. Brooklyn Premier Orthopedics has locations in New York and New Jersey.
