Community Health Systems is one of the country’s largest healthcare providers. They are based out of Tennessee but have locations throughout the United States. On February 13, 2023, they announced a data breach to their computer network through a subcontractor, Fortra, who was providing them with a secure file transfer software called GoAnywhere. This secure system was hacked and as a result, the protected health information and sensitive personal information of one million Community Health Systems patients has been exposed.
