About the Investigation:

Did You Receive A Breach Notice From CUNY or PBI?

If so, your sensitive personal identifiable information may have been stolen!

The City University of New York (CUNY) recently sent out Data Security Incident notice letters, because of a hacking incident that affected a vendor.  On June 2, 2023, Pension Benefit Information, LLC (“PBI”) discovered that their network had been the target of a cybersecurity attack that exposed the personal information, including Social Security Numbers, of 371,359 individuals.  PBI is used by TIAA, CUNY’s employee retirement benefit plan provider, so information of individuals affiliated with CUNY has been exposed in the incident as well.

Data breaches are serious matters that can cause long term damage. Hackers break into networks so that they can steal your personal information to sell it on the dark web, commit identity theft, financial theft or other frauds.

How do you know if you were affected? If you received a letter from CUNY about the PBI Data Security Incident, contact us to find out if you may be eligible for compensation!
