Disney Privacy Violations Class Action

Location: All US States

About the Investigation:

Does Your Child Watch Disney Content on YouTube?

Did you know that the Disney Company has been fined $10 million by the Federal Trade Commission for unlawfully collecting personal data belonging to children without the consent of their parents?

A recent lawsuit alleges that Disney is still guilty of these privacy violations, by not labeling their content on YouTube as made for children. This violates the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, which requires that parents consent to their child’s data collection by any online service geared toward children under 13.

This means that when your child watches a Disney video on YouTube, their personal identifying information and location is being tracked, as well as your child’s subsequent online activity across other websites, apps or devices. Disney then makes money by selling your child’s data for targeted advertising.

If your child is under 13 and has watched an animated Disney video on YouTube within the last two years, our attorneys would like to speak to you! Simply fill out the form on this page for more information.
