Family Vision of Anderson is an optometry practice with three locations in South Carolina. In May 2023 they discovered the presence of ransomware on one of their office computers. As a result, an unauthorized third party accessed confidential information stored on their server which belonged to patients.  Because of this breach, the private data of around 60,000 Family Vision patients is now in the hands of hackers, including names, dates of birth, home addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, phone numbers, email addresses, private health information and health insurance information.
