Inotiv, Inc. Data Breach Investigation

Inotiv, Inc. is a pharmaceutical research company based in Indiana which has more than 20 other locations and is most well-known for having been fined $35 million for animal cruelty in 2024. Recently, Inotiv announced that their computer systems were compromised in a ransomware attack by a hacker group.  Not only was private information exposed, but the hackers were able to encrypt some of Inotiv’s computer systems and disrupt normal business operations for a while.  A ransomware group has since taken credit for the attack and posted a sampling of the stolen documents on the dark web. Some of these documents include employee names and information, lab reports, research contracts, purchase orders, and more.
