Kootenai Health Data Breach

Kootenai Health provides health services to Idaho residents via their clinics, surgery center and imaging.  On August 1, 2024, Kootenai Health notified the Main Attorney General of a data breach to their network which exposed the information of 464,088 individuals.  The notice letters sent out to affected individuals explain that an unauthorized third party gained access to Kootenai’s computer system and was able to view private information there which may include names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, medical information, and health insurance information.

Data breaches are serious matters that can cause long term damage. Hackers break into networks so that they can steal your personal information to sell it on the dark web, commit identity theft, financial theft or other frauds.
