Mauch Chunk Trust Company (“MCT”) is a financial planning company based in Jim Thorpe, PA. On August 18, 2023, MCT sent out notices informing individuals that their personal information had been accessed in a data breach. The hackers responsible for the security incident targeted a vendor of MCT, Darling Consulting, which stored MCT data in their internal network. The information accessed by the hackers involved 29,949 MCT customers’ personal identifying information, as well as account numbers, credit card numbers, security codes, passwords and PIN numbers.
