MEDSTAR MOBILE HEALTHCARE DATA BREACH
Were you a patient who used the services of MedStar Mobile Healthcare?
If so, your data may have been stolen!
Metropolitan Area EMS Authority, based in Fort Worth Texas and doing business as MedStar Mobile Healthcare, reported to the Attorney General’s office on January 4, 2023 that their system had been hacked in a data breach. The information of almost 600,000 former patients was exposed including names, addresses, social security numbers, medical information and health insurance information.
Data breaches are serious matters that can cause long term damage. Hackers break into networks so that they can steal your personal information to sell it on the dark web, commit identity theft, financial theft or other frauds.
How do you know if you were affected? MedStar posted notice of the breach on their website, but did not report that they have sent out notice letters to patients whose data may have been exposed.
