Morris Hospital Data Breach

The Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers (“Morris Hospital”) provides health services in various locations southwest of Chicago, Illinois. Recently the hospital posted a notice of cybersecurity incident on their website which announced that their internal computer system had been broken into by hackers back in April. They were able to determine that confidential files were indeed removed from their system during the breach. 

This security incident exposed the sensitive information of 248,943 Morris Hospital patients and employees.  This information includes names, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, driver’s license numbers, Social Security numbers, and protected health information.
