Piggly Wiggly Shoppers – Check Your Receipts!

About the Investigation:
Do you shop at the Piggly Wiggly? Check your receipts!
The Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (FACTA) makes it illegal for retailers to print more than the last five numbers of your credit or debit card on a receipt, and also makes it illegal to print any of the card’s expiration date.
This is to prevent someone from getting hold of a lost or discarded receipt and then using your card number to make fraudulent purchases or selling it on the dark web for other criminals to use.
If a criminal gets their hands on your credit or debit card number and uses it to make purchases, you may not realize it until it is too late. It could then take years to correct the damage, costing you considerable money, time, mental anguish and possibly even ruining your credit.
FACTA applies to printed receipts you receive when you make a purchase or withdraw money.
How do you know if you are eligible?
If you:
- have a printed receipt you received within the last two years AND
- it has more than the last five digits of your debit or credit card printed on it OR
- lists any part of your debit or credit card’s expiration date on it
You may be entitled to compensation! To have someone from our team evaluate your claim and see if you qualify with no obligation to you, just fill out the form on this page and then send a photo of your receipt to newintakes@sirillp.com.
