Planet Home Lending Data Breach
About the Investigation:
If so, your sensitive personal identifiable information may have been stolen!
Planet Home Lending is a company based in Connecticut that offers mortgage loans and refinancing to homebuyers across the country. On January 25, 2024, Planet Home Lending began informing affected consumers of a data breach to their computer network which exposed the information of almost 200,000 individuals.
Their notice letter blames the breach on a weakness in the Citrix software used by Planet Home Lending which allowed a hacker group to gain access, despite existing security protections in place. According to the breach notices that went out, the information stolen by the hackers may include such personal identifying information such as names, addresses, Social Security numbers, loan numbers, and financial account numbers.
Data breaches are serious matters that can cause long term damage. Hackers break into networks so that they can steal your personal information to sell it on the dark web, commit identity theft, financial theft or other frauds.
How do you know if you were affected? If you received a letter from Planet Home Lending notifying you that your private information was impacted in their data breach, contact us to find out if you may be eligible for compensation!
