Regional Care, Inc. (“RCI”) is a health insurance broker in Scottsbluff, Nebraska which offers benefit plans to businesses and their employees. On December 16, 2024, RCI notified the Attorney General of Maine of a data breach incident in which hackers broke into the RCI computer system and extracted private information stored there. The notice says that in September of 2024, the hackers stole data belonging to 225,728 people. According to the individual notice letters sent out, the information stolen may include names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, health insurance and medical information.
