The Burney Company employs investment advisors and tax planners in Reston, Virginia and Nashville, Tennessee. In that capacity, The Burney Company deals with highly sensitive financial and personal information belonging to their clients. On May 14, 2025, The Burney Company discovered data had been stolen from their computer systems by an unknown party. As a result client names, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers and bank account information were compromised and some individuals’ tax refunds were diverted.
