Union Pacific Railroad Employees – Genetic Information Privacy Act Violations (GIPA)

Location: IL

About the Investigation:

Illinois Union Pacific Railroad Employees - Did Your Employer Ask You About Your Family's Health History?

If you have been asked about your family’s health history at work, your employer may be in violation of Illinois law. The Illinois Genetic Information Protection Act (GIPA) does not allow an employer to ask about your family’s health history, since it violates your privacy rights.

Siri and Glimstad LLP is investigating claims from Illinois residents who are employed by Union Pacific Railroad that they were asked about their family medical history during either the application process or their employment.

If you live in Illinois, work for Union Pacific Railroad and were asked within the last five years about your family’s health history by a manager or someone else during the hiring process or your employment, please fill out the form on this page.
