UChicago Medicine Data Breach

About the Investigation:
If so, your sensitive personal identifiable information may have been stolen!
University of Chicago Medicine “UChicago Medicine” – based within the University of Chicago’s campus on the south side of Chicago – is the latest in a growing list of medical providers to announce that patient data was breached due to a security incident with a collections vendor, Nationwide Recovery Services (NRS).
In July of 2024, the NRS computer network was breached and files belonging to UChicago Medicine patients were accessed by an unauthorized party. The types of information accessed by the hackers could include names, contact information, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, financial information and more.
Data breaches are serious matters that can cause long term damage. Hackers break into networks so that they can steal your personal information to sell it on the dark web, commit identity theft, financial theft or other frauds.
How do you know if you were affected? If you received a letter from UChicago Medicine notifying you that your private information was impacted in their data breach, contact us to find out if you may be eligible for compensation!
