USAA Data Incident Investigation
About the Investigation:
If so, your sensitive personal identifiable information may have been stolen!
USAA recently sent out letters to 32,000 people regarding an incident which may have shared their private information with others. During USAA’s internal company updates to their computer system, some members’ insurance documents were incorrectly posted to other members’ accounts. These documents may have included names, addresses, emails, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, VINs, loan numbers, health information and insurance policy information.
Data breaches are serious matters that can cause long term damage. Usually, they occur when hackers break into networks so that they can steal your personal information to sell it on the dark web, commit identity theft, financial theft or other frauds. Any sharing of your private data without authorization is a breach of your rights.
How do you know if you were affected? If you received a notice from USAA informing you that your private information was impacted in their data incident, contact us to find out if you may be eligible for compensation!
