Xavier University, the Catholic university in Louisiana, announced in February 2023 that the information of more than 44,000 students and vendors had been exposed in a data breach. There had been a cyberattack on their computer system on November 22, resulting in sensitive personal information being exposed and stolen, including full names and Social Security numbers of students.
