Qantas recently disclosed that it suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal data of certain individuals.
What Happened?
On June 30, 2025, Qantas discovered unusual activity on a third-party call center platform that impacted the personal data of approximately 5.7 million customers. The compromised information included names, email addresses, and frequent flyer numbers. For about 1.7 million customers, additional details such as postal addresses, birthdates, phone numbers, gender, and meal preferences were also exposed.
Importantly, no financial information or passport data was affected by this breach.
