Sharp HealthCare recently disclosed that it suffered a data breach that compromised the sensitive personal data of certain individuals.
What Happened?
Sharp Community Medical Group and its parent, Sharp HealthCare, disclosed a significant data breach involving their business associate, Episource, LLC (June 6, 2025). Episource confirmed unauthorized access between January 27 and February 6, 2025, which allowed hackers to access and copy sensitive personal and health data—including names, addresses, dates of birth, driver’s license numbers, health insurance information, and medical records—for approximately 2,029 individuals under Sharp Community Medical Group and roughly 24,971 individuals under Sharp HealthCare. Sharp (via Episource) began mailing breach notification letters on June 6, 2025
