Michael Connett, a partner at Siri & Glimstad law firm, is representing parents in six new lawsuits against major companies over fluoride-containing children’s oral care products. The lawsuits target flouride in kid products from companies like Procter & Gamble and Colgate-Palmolive, claiming they misleadingly market fluoride products as safe for young children despite health risks if swallowed.
Connett stated, “These lawsuits are not about whether fluoride toothpaste should be available to those who want it. They are about companies that mislead consumers into believing these products are harmless to young children.”
Notably, Connett has previous experience in fluoride-related litigation, having represented advocacy groups in a successful case that led to a San Francisco federal judge ordering the EPA to further regulate fluoride in drinking water due to potential IQ concerns.
The lawsuits are currently filed in federal courts in Illinois and California, seeking various damages for violations of consumer protection laws.
